I what?
by Katie Kish on Nov.30, 2006, under Rantage, School Schtuff
"you over-exaggerate feminism. 8/15." is the only comment I got on my midterm that I just received back from my philosophy of the environment class. I reread it, thinking maybe I went into a bit of a radical frenzie, but I definitely didn’t.
How can you "over-exaggerate feminism"?
Especially when talking about ecofeminism?
The mark pisses me off, because there are no other comments. …So over exaggerating feminism loses you 7 marks? I got almost perfect on the first half, but because I over exaggerate feminism I only got a 73% on the midterm.
Bullll shiat.
We hate your hate.

“First, I’d like to point out a few contradictions: You said “gay” and “cool” in the same sentence, while, at the same time, denying the l337ness of Chuck Norris. Are you really that stupid, or is this whole Communist blog a joke? Your stupidity alarms me. I think I needed to read that to remember just how screwed up Canada is — and to remember to stay away from there!”
This is the most recent hateful comment that has been posted on my blog. I have published it, despite my want not to. We’re approaching the anniversary of the Montreal Massacre. This *is not* the time that you want to be bombarding my space with hate. On December 6th 1989 a man so full of hate separated the men from the women, and killed all 11 female engineering students, after screaming “I hate feminists”.
If you are someone who is full of hate. If you are someone who wants to post something degrading, mean, rude, etc. this is *not* the place you should be at. There is enough hate in this world, and enough violence and hate targeted against women that I don’t want to see it here. If you have so much hate in you to act like an asshole to someone you don’t even know… I don’t even want to have to speak to you, read your words or be part of your stupidities.
I hope everyone will keep in mind these tragic events of December 6th. Go to the CBC site for some videos about the Massacre. If you’re in Canada, find the nearest memorial to where you are. At UVIC it will be at 11:30 on December 1st outside of the library.
Strombo is green

Georgee-poo is listing some ethical christmas gifts! They are amazing too. Right after I finished my incredibly unethical christmas list I came across George’s and I’m mildly ashamed of myself. heh.
First installment goes for the climate change state of mind.. Buy your
friends a tree in a celebrity forest or other killer ways to be carbon
neutral..Here is The Carbon Neutral shoppers page.
This is where you can find the Celebrity Forests Link
A tree would be cool. I wouldn’t mind getting a tree. Last year my brother got me a wicked gift… He got me recycled toilet paper, kleenex and hankees. It was really awesome. …Of course my sister was sitting in the corner say "yeah but how much was that? I can get a bigger box for 1/2 the price" *sigh*
George’s blog is actually pretty f’n sweet. He links to Tom Green’s blog and posts this amazing quote:
"A professional dominatrix testified that an officer in the Greenburgh,
New York, police department had extracted sexual favors from her. “He
wanted to go to a motel in the Bronx where I would defecate on him,”
she said, “but I told him I was uncomfortable going to the Bronx."
Heh.
Dance dance electricity
by Katie Kish on Nov.29, 2006, under Environment, Geek-o-rific
I can’t get over how cool EcoGeek is.
…a Netherlands dance club is planning
on installing electricity-generating tiles in the dance floor. That’s right, there is now a direct way to turn the meta-physical
energy of the Jackson 5 into electricity. Tito sings, you dance, the
floor tiles move, electricity comes out. OK…maybe it’s not ‘direct’
as such, but as a lover of dance clubs myself, I think it’s just a fine
idea.Of course, the folks haven’t decided how to make the floor generate
electricity quite yet, but it looks like, in the end, they’ll be using
piezoelectric crystals, which emit electrons when compressed.
Cool? Yes. Expensive? Hell yes. But again - I love alternative energy sources.
Uh…wow

I Hate Stupid Assholes
My
sister told me that a parent who sends her 3 year old son to the local
preschool threatened to pull him out because her husband saw him
playing with Barbies when he picked the kid up at the end of the day.
She insisted that her son would be gay as a result, and that it is the
job of the staff to make sure that these things don’t happen.
I hate stupid assholes too.
