Well, I’ve had many a job this summer… factories, kitchen stores and day camps… but now… NOW I have finally got one that is worth waking up for. In day camps you know you have to face snotty nosed children and bitching parents. Not to mention the anti-atheist sentiments. At kitchen stores you have to pretend to care what kind of can opener people want, or help them pick the right strainer to match the apron that Aunt Suzie bought them at Christmas. At factories you use no skills or intelligence, you do repetitive work in an unaesthetic environment with people who don’t know Bush from Clinton or Pi from Beta… or what those two words mean.
I have landed a job where I can talk to people. Use my knowledge of electrical gadgets. And most importantly… walk to work instead of having to drive or take 8 different kinds of public transit. Future Shop my friends, Future Shop. And the best part is, in my interview I told them all about my work with secular groups, so my atheism isn’t going to get me fired from this one kids.
I’m working full time, which is great. Im doing training right now at the Kitchener location. It’s slightly inconvenient but come August 22nd we’ll be opening up the store here in Guelph, which is very close to my place. My supervisors/managers are totally amazing, I couldn’t have asked for better people. I sell computers, cell phones and cameras. Best of all, come September I’ll STILL be working full time AND doing a full time semester at school. I don’t need to choose, which is super important for me. At this rate, I’ll hopefully be moved out of my moms house by next summer with lots of cash-o-la in the bank-a-roo.
I think most people are suggest I get a car rather than move into my own place, but given the option of a car or walking around naked while listening to Britney Spears at the top of my lungs and leaving dishes all over the place without having to worry about other people and eating cross legged on the floor without getting yelled at…. I pick the second choice.
I was also just appointed the new multimedia director at CFI! Woo! Executive position!! So that’s pretty exciting as well. Anyway, if you’re in Guelph, stop by future shop and buy something to help up my commission!!

Me, sad because… well, it is gone.
“The time has come,” the Walrus said,
“To talk of many things:
Of shoes–and ships–and sealing-wax–
Of cabbages–and kings–
And why the sea is boiling hot–
And whether pigs have wings.”
“But wait a bit,” the Oysters cried,
“Before we have our chat;
For some of us are out of breath,
And all of us are fat!”
Yes, it is time. Time for me… to get rid of something I have so truly loved, for so very long. I don’t know if it’s because of the new job… Or because it was “just time”… but it is gone. The labret right that I got years ago was taken out today. And I have recently decided that it won’t be going back in.
And now… in memory… a few pictures:

My labret ring being part of a good ol’ fashion growl.

My labret ring…helping me kill my kidneys

My labret ring sending kisses

My labret ring on the radio

Freaky red lips help the labret ring to look good

My labret ring is scared of the prehistoric shark

A smirk always welcomes a metal friend

Big smiles! Because my labret ring and I … love each other
Yeah… we’ll see how long this lasts, really. I miss it already. …Its been out for 8 hours.

I spent the majority of last week in Toronto, turns out Toronto is about 8000 bajillion times more exciting than Mississauga… who would have guessed?! Ba ha. I always have a good time when I’m there, good people, amazing conversations, free food and this time around fantastic art. Allen and I went to the Japan Foundation in Yorkville (where all the rich people in Toronto live) and saw some really great art.
This painting was my favorite:

The White Room II & Allen (Click to enlarge)
We also too pictures of our silhouettes that actually turned out really cool:

(I’m on the left, he is on the right.)
It was a good time! Sadly, Allen is going to California on Saturday for the remaining weeks of this summer.
I’ll miss him very much.

My mom and I just got back from the theater - we saw the Simpsons Movie and my goodness… it was funny. I recommend that everyone go and see it. I don’t think it was *as* good as some of the regular TV episodes I’ve seen, but if it’s not… it’s pretty darn close. It was very cute.
My absolute favorite part went a little something like this:
Grandpa: *goes crazy on the church floor*
Marge: Homer! Do something!
Homer: *picks up bible flipping pages wildly trying to figure out what to do and says:* This book has no answers!!!!!!
Aaaaaah hahahahahaha. I had a darn good laugh at that one. My mom and I were also the only ones who laughed at a few of the jokes, not because they weren’t funny, but because they were political and everyone in Guelph is an inbred hic.. err, never mind.
Now that I’ve seen that, the next movie I plan on seeing in the theater is Horton Hears a Who. See - I don’t go to the movie theater all that often. I used to a lot when I lived in Mississauga, but now I think it’s just a huge rip off. I feel so bad when I see families that go that are clearly working class and they can’t buy their kids popcorn because it’s too expensive. And then you realize it cost them over $50 for their tickets… Thats groceries for an entire week, just to go see a movie. Fucking capitalist pigs. No wonder people have to choose between rent and food sometimes.
Anyway, because of this I don’t go to the movies very often. But there was a preview for Horton Hears a Who, and I absolutely love Dr. Seuss, and I don’t have kids or pay rent.
The point of my story is this:
Go see the Simpsons movie.
