So I saw it. Me and my ladies got dressed up (like trendy new yorkers) drank a whole lot of wine and went and saw it. And it was SO GOOD.

I’m not going to write about the plot on here - beacuse I don’t want to let out any spoilers. but I definitely wasn’t dissapointed. I did cry a LOT… like… a LOT.

It was done exactly like the tv show - so if you’re not into the show, don’t see the movie. I’ve read a lot of reviews of people who said it was horrible - but it’s because they weren’t into the show. Yes, there are a lot of designer labels, the girls always talk about sex and boys, Samantha is horny, they say “fuck” and it IS hilarious and Carrie DOES NOT look like a horse.

I really did hate the Steve/Miranda plot line - it was just too much for me to handle. Anyway - the movie was great, I don’t care if the big hollywood buffs think it was shit - I loved it.

Also recently loved: Darjeeling Limited. LOVED. I also downloaded the soundtracks for ALL Wes Anderson films and it was the best decision of my life.

Okay, I’ll be back later to bitch about athiests. After I play some pacman.

A Friendly Interview

Written by Katie Kish in Uncategorized

Earlier this week I interviewed Hemant Mehta about… various things. Here’s the interview. I was going to upload the entire show onto here - but it took 20 minutes just to upload the interview, so there’s no way I was going to wait for a hour and a half show to upload. Anyway - it’s long, but it’s interesting, because he’s interesting.

Seriously - this guy was the easiest interview of my life. You don’t even have to ask a question - just say like three words and he’ll start talking for like 10 minutes straight… There I was worried I wasn’t going to have enough questions when really I didn’t even get to like 1/2 of the other I wanted to ask.

Anyway - it was a pre-hype for his visit to Toronto on June 27th when he’ll be doing a talk at U of T in the multi-faith center at 7 pm. I’m pretty excited for his visit.

In other news - Tomorrow is the ROM trip for all the campus groups in the area! Woo! About 50 secular students will be meeting in front of the Royal Ontario Museum to go see the Darwin Exhibit. We solidified a few extra tickets - so if you’re a student and in the area feel free to meet everyone there at 11 am! The exhibit will be followed by a BBQ and discussion at the Center for Inquiry - Ontario located at 216 Beverley. This whole trip was the baby of my group… but now I can’t go, nor can my VP who was most excited for it. I’ve been running a fever for the past three days and barely been able to get out of bed for more than half an hour. (Hence the complete lack of posting while having the entire week off.)

Hopefully I’ll feel better soon.

Go to the ROM in my name.

Changes at Lib-Deb

Written by Katie Kish in Uncategorized

this has nothing to do with this post, but… ontario got 400 megawatts of solar power. NEAT!

While I’ll be pretty available and around all week and thus posting a bit more - I start a new job on Monday and school and what have yous - so I’ve done some recruiting. Obviously Pharrell is here and acting all holy on us and attacking the man of my dreams but you’ll also see a fellow named Tyler floating around who will entertain with posts on cryptozoology, paranormal schtuff and hopefully a little biology now and then. Also, Roy should pop in and out once in a while to do his thing, whatever that thing may be. Roy is awesome. That is all on that.

The point is that I don’t really have a ton of time - and these three guys entertain me, so I assume, perhaps foolishly, that they will entertain everyone else as well. (The down side of pharrell is that I literally have to rewrite almost all of his posts for grammar and what have yous because he has really broken english, and it’s almost entirely unreadable. But he’s got a lot to say, so I’m down with that.) So this is sort of an experiment to see what sort of reaction I get from people on the guys, and what the guys actually end up bringing to the table. Soooooooo it could be a flop, it could be good. We’ll see… send me feedback!

*Edit* no pharrell… i dont like his content. and he’s being a bitch about it. so tata little one.

Also, apparently there have been some issues with there being a virus or something on my site that is making google say it might harm your computer. I’ll be looking into that… i promise. lol… My brother tried to work on it this evening, but he was here to visit mom so we couldn’t really sit down with it. Hopefully everything is okay though… It hasn’t killed my computer yet! :D

I wanted IT the other night - the steven king clown movie, … it wasn’t that scary. Why do people freak out about how scary it is? I’ll admit, clowns are pretty freaky in general, but… it wasn’t that bad. And the ending was just… well, stupid.

How about a story?? (because I’m brain dead and not writing anything over exciting tonight….)

For what ever reason or another we drove all the way to Hamilton last night to go to the bar… I guess we went there because we wanted to go to a gay bar and Guelph is lacking. First we had to go out for dinner with my now former co-workers, so we did that. That was interesting… I was more interested in just getting drunky drunk than having conversation so Jamie and I kept trying to slip vodka into my cup instead of me drinking water. It wasn’t bait at all.

Then we speed off to Hamilton… The bar was alright. It was kind of weird. There were the stereotypical “im so goth i shit bats” people standing in the corner and the weird old men watching all the fairy boys dance on stage. Most of the guys were topless by the end of the night and none of the women were wearing bras.

I’m not much of a dancer (I’m really more of a “lets-go-to-a-pub-and-fight-about-philosophy” kind of girl) but I danced anyway, with plenty a-gay-men. My phone kept ringing so I’d go off to answer it. To talk on it I’d have to stand by these really sketch bag stairs where it was far away from the music… Close to the end of the night I was on my phone and I had just hung up… when I think the only 3 straight men in the entire place came walking up the stairs.

The one guy was like “you lost sexy?” and I was like “absolutely not” and he was like “good” and came up to kiss me… Not liking how this was panning out I decided it was in my best interest to deck the guy in the face. Of course, just as I’m slugging this guy in the eye the bouncer comes in and sees me… grabs me by the wrists and tosses me out the door.

So… there I am… in heels, no coat, in the rain, freezing cold, in a city I’ve been to maybe three times and had just been thrown out of a bar because I guy came onto me… (okay, maybe I didn’t have to punch him)… Having no idea where I am, or where my friends are I call Alon (I don’t know why I called someone who lives in America and not someone from …say… Hamilton.) to get some directions to a bus station or something… But I eventually find the car that my friends and I came in, so I just sit on it until they come out (which wasn’t for like ever!)

And that was my night. …THIS my dear readers… is why I am a hermit and sit at home playing video games or reading math books all the time. Nights out just don’t bode well for me.

Le *SIGH*

Written by Katie Kish in Uncategorized

I was in the middle of cleaning my room and happened to call Pharrell to complain about the fact that I was cleaning my room. At some point I sighed out “I wish I was blogging, my blog get neglected” to which he replied… “I’ll write for your blog!!” and before I knew it I was somehow agreeing to let him write what ever to wanted to, and to share my space.

So I guess this is my formal introduction to Pharrell. He’s been added to the contact page and about page… crazy. I’ve had a lot of co-bloggers in the past, none of which stuck around. But perhaps he’ll be here for a little while, we’ll see.

Just for the record, Julia Roberts is not attractive. At all. Her lips are HUGE and her face isn’t right.
