From now until March 16th I’m going to bugging the hell out of people to donate to the Women’s Radio-A-Thon that is happening at CFUV 101.9 on March 16th. The entire week is called "Fun Drive" … If you think I’m I’m scamming you - and you want to donate directly to the station, feel free to do that, and e-mail them that it’s going towards the women’s radio-a-thon.

Once a year the station holds "FunDrive". It is asking the community, family, friends etc to support our station with donations. CFUV is listener-supported radio, so all the money for equipment upgrading, repairs, syndicated programming, workshops, the women’s collective fund etc is all paid for with listener donations.

One day of the FunDrive, the last day, is a special all-day women’s programming day. Basically what I have to do is 18 hours of programming that day (!!!) to try and raise money for all the women that are put on air at our station during the semesters. The percentage of women on the radio is horribly low, and my position as the women’s collective coordinator is to attempt to get more women voices on air, but we need the money to do that… So if that is something you want to contribute to and support please click the donation button over at the side. Even a little will help!

Thanks!

Don’t forget you can listen to the station any time you want here. You can listen to me on most Monday’s from 9 - 1030 pm (PST) and every Wednesday 5 - 6 pm (PST) …and soon every Friday at… some random time (i think 3 - 4, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.)

On Feb 28th and March 7th we’ll be doing a radio broadcast of the Vagina Monologues (2 dates because it will have to be in 2 parts, since the Monologues come out to be about 1.5 hours, and we only have a 1 hour show.)… So you should all tune in and listen to that - you can even try to guess which one is me!! (I’m aiming for the cunt one or the orgasm one!)

Also, on Valentine’s day we’re having a special program with a panel of women talking about marriage and relationships… More along the lines of - what do you need to "prove commitment" and the legitimacy of trust. Also special programming will happen on March 21 for the international "end racism" day.
