The Nigerian House of Representatives held public hearings last week on a bill that would criminalize all expressions and forms of homosexuality in Nigeria.

Yes, I’m at work and decided to read through old posts on blogs. Can I get a useless? But on to other things…my point is I am headed to Oman to visit some friends in August where any act of homosexuality in public is banned. People actually go to jail for shit like this: It blows my mind how far our world still has to go in the human rights department. I don’t know how my friend deals with being a gay man in a society like that.
If you think that’s bad, consider this: in Iran, people get hanged for homosexuality in public or private.
Ah I just read up on this so I could get up to speed…It would be interesting to know how strongly these laws are enforced. Oddly enough, the Sultan of Oman is heavily rumoured to be gay. Go figure.
