Tis’ time

Written by Katie Kish in Dinosaurs, Evolution, Prehistoric

…To start introducing my new big thing on the blog. I want to teach myself more about prehistoric life, so I’m starting a rather lengthy “series” on it. I don’t think “series” is the right word, because I’ll add a post to it when ever I get each one done, I’m guessing it will take me a couple days to do each one on top of school and work, so I’ll promise 3 a week. That shouldn’t be so difficult to pump out. I’ll be starting by going through some of the first time periods - precambrian and palaeozoic, then I’ll pause and do creatures that popped up in the palaeozoic - because there are a lot.

Then the mesozoic… but before I actually get into the dinosaurs I’ll look at each time period, and at some general dino info because trust me, it’s all interesting… there will be dino classification, types, death… etc. Then dinosaurs themselves.

All of this is going to take me a while. But if I finish it in a reasonable amount of time I’ll get into more dinosaur features… skeletons, blood, brains, sensory systems, feeding, reproduction, transportation, survival, myths, culture, collectors, excavations sites, recreation… etc.
Just as a starting point I’ve made a really quick sketch of the tree of life. It’s simple as all hell, but it will be able to show you were all the different types of creatures emerge in history, what time period I’m looking in and I’ll likely use it as almost an outline on how to structure this whole “series” thing… It’s pretty big (click on it, smart ass.), but here it is:

I’ll have the first post ready tomorrow on the precambrian period.

To the people who are not the least bit interested in geology/history/anthropology/paleontology…. Sorry guys, I’m just making it reasonable for me to eventually start posting about different types of dinosaurs. :D But don’t worry, this won’t stop me from posting the regular stuff too! Just you’ll have to weed through dinosaurs to find them. Rawr.

It is exactly for your random interests like this that I love your blog so much! Also, your commentary, but really, I think people with random interests and love of learning are the best.
