Satellite images of New Orleans

Google released extremely detailed satellite images of New Orleans today. If I knew more about New Orleans they would probably be a lot more effective for me - but as it stands … I don’t know a whole lot, but I was still really amazed at how you can see damaged houses, and so many houses with tarps over them.
While we’re talking about hurricanes - Mooney has a new post up at huffington about news of more bad weather ahead - it is most definitely worth a read.

Here’s a view from that satellite photo that shows literally dozens of roofs that still need repair. It’s incredible how badly the response to Katrina was botched.
