Personally, my idea of a perfect Valentine’s day is lying in bed listening to music all day. Good music. Mmm, good music. My idea of a horrible Valentine’s day is waking up at 8:30, cutting myself shaving, having to go to work to try and organize a panel of 6 under experienced volunteers and then writing a midterm.
Guess which one I’m doing today!? However, Last.FM just read my mind and my radio station (aka "similar music to stars" heh) just started playing Feist, One Evening… The original version, not the VV or Gonz mix. The Gonz mix sucks.
Annnyway, moving on… I managed to upload a pretty good list of music. If you listened to my show on Monday, then you heard most of these songs, or song by similar artists, that doesn’t make the songs any less amazing.
First is by Glomag off the 8 Bit Operators album and the song is called Pocket Calculator. (2007 Astralwerks)
Dj Co-Op off of Co-Operations volume 3, called Buck Done Division. A remix of MIA and Fugazi. Also, Yearning Celebrity which is a remix of NOFX and Twista.
Emilie Simon (frenchly pronounced!) newest album The Flower Box is gooorgeous. It was hard to pick a song, but I went with Dame De Lotus from her 2006 promotional CD with Milan Records.
Rebekah Higgs suprised me with her self titled album. Its the only song I picked with the word "love" in the title, and it’s called Love is… It has good lyrics. And she’s a halifax chick.
Camera Obscura’s newest If looks could kill, only has three tracks, but they’re all fantabulous. So I went with Alaska.. It was recorded at chem 19 Studios by Paul Savage and it’s released by merge records.
New Young Pony Club! Woo! Crude song, but real good - Ice cream brought to you by Modular Records in 2007
And I was going to upload Penleope by Pinback, but I just changed my mind, it is on that myspace site tho…and its the song on my myspace page. It’s THAT good.
Enjoy ya’ll.
