New Music: Modest Mouse? :(

The new modest mouse was supposed to be out today - so I was hoping that it would be here at the station so that I could jump on top of it and get a couple songs off of it online. But - it is not here. In fact our new music section hasn’t been updated in about 3 weeks, so there was nothing that I hadn’t listened to yet. …So I pulled off 4 CDs that are real good, but not the best on the shelf, but still good and I have another track from that Arcade Fire CD because it’s just too good to pass up.

SJ Esau - Allagog (Wrong Faced Cat Feed Collapse)
The Dead Bodies - Welcome to Town (Mr. Spookshouse’s Pink House) Sort of a big surprise that I liked this one… Also, quite surprising that a band called “The Dead Bodies” has a really pretty bright pink album cover and CD.
Jahcoozi - BLN (BPC Camping Compilation 3) This compilation is really fantastic for people who like weird/cool techno beats. I really enjoyed it. Fo real.
Arcade Fire - Black Wave/Bad Vibrations (Neon Bible)
*Note - there will be a real special edition of New Music on Thursday or Friday - depending on when I get my hands on that brand new David Usher album!!!!!

There is discussion about how generic MM new album is, some bloggers think so.
I personally think, that album is ok. Not mind blowing but not bad either. It has Franz Fredinand-ish flavor.

Let me know how the SJ Esau album is. I haven’t liked the direction the anticon label has gone lately, since I originally got into them for their “avant”-hop stuff. But I did like Dosh’s latest album. Have you heard it? It’s pretty good. I’ll give that track a listen to, though.

I heard the the new MM is sounding a lot like the Killers… Our music director said we should bet the album at the end of the week but its not getting added to the library because its too main stream now… Sounding like the killers though? that’ll just be bad news.
Shnakepup - I definitely heard the Dosh album and liked it a lot. And I really really like the SJ Esau track i posted, but the rest of the album is REALLY hit and miss.
