I just watched the movie The God Who Wasn’t There. The… reason why I watched it is embarassing, and I plan on admitting it to all of 3 people… Anyway, at the end of the film Brian Flemming lists all the websites and such of the people that he interviewed and had on the movie. One of them is Raputre Letters…

The poinst of Rapture Letters, is that you go and enter your name, and the name/e-mail of a loved one and this letter will get sent to them following the rapture.

Dear Friend;

This message has been sent to you by a friend or a relative who has recently

disappeared along with millions and millions of people around the world.

The reason they chose to send you this letter is because they cared about you

and would like you to know the truth about where they went.

This may come as a shock to you, but the one who sent you this has been taken

up to heaven.

If you read a Bible, you will see that after chapter three in the book of Revelation,

the church is no longer mentioned as being on earth. (The church are the believers

in Jesus Christ, not the buildings in which people meet.)

In the Bible, 1 Thessalonians Chapter 4 verses 16 and 17 tell how Jesus came

to take away His church. But, you have to believe the Bible is the Word of

God in order to believe this.

I am sure that there will be a lot of speculation as to what happened to all

these people. The theories of some scientists and world leaders will have

so much credibility that most of the world will believe them.

It will sound like the truth!

But, there is only one truth.  And, that truth is that Jesus Christ, God in the flesh,

came back to earth and took with Him to Heaven all who believed in Him

and made Him their Lord.

If you would like to give your life to Jesus Christ and be born again, it is

not too late. First you must pray to God saying"Father I admit I am a

sinner, and I will turn from my sin and do good. I believe that Jesus was

your son and that He came here to die for me so that my sins would be

forgiven. I ask you to forgive me and I will repent of my sins. In Jesus

name I pray."

If you just prayed that prayer and meant it with all your heart, then God

will know you as one of His own. You should now seek out others who have

also given their lives to Christ, read a Bible daily, and do your best to

bring others to Christ.

So, after all the born against christians on earth are taken into heaven, this letter will be sent to those who didn’t go to heaven just as an explaination…. I’m… not kidding. And the guy who runs the site is pretty serious about it as well.

Not all of the sites that Brian lists are ridic like that one, Richard Carrier’s site actually has some really interesting things to read. I’ve only read about 1/2 of one of the articles, but the titles all look interesting …I’ll get around to it later.

Besides that, all I have to say is Billy Graham scares me, Richard Dawkins is one of my favorite people on earth and this video is sort of interesting:

I guess I only find it interesting because in the past couple of weeks or so, a lot of people have been questioning me about my atheism, telling me it’s not real, telling me that because I deny god I am therefore validating its existance, telling me to prove that science should prevail over religion and telling me that if I am an athiest I shouldn’t care about religion. I get that last one a lot in my introduction to religion class… At least 6 times people in group discussions have told me "if you were a real atheist, you wouldn’t be in a religion class." It’s starting to bug me.

I dont feel like I should have to prove my atheism to anyone - Christians don’t have to prove their god to anyone, so why do I have to prove my… nothing… to anyone? If you watch The God Who Wasn’t There and Richard Dawkin’s videos, The Root Of All Evil, and if you read about hate crimes based around religion and so on and so forth… you’ll see the numerous reasons as to why I’m an atheist. …I’m not going to validate it any further to anyone. I have yet to see any reasons why I should be christian… what it would do for me other than blind me to a lot of fantastic truths…
