“Bye bye baby”

Posted by: Katie Kish In: S'all bout moi

One abortion, 2 bottles of wine, a new hair color and 8 consecutive episodes of Sex in the City later… I’ve decided to ditch the 800 person town, and skip over to the southern most point of Canada, which in comparison has a booming population, although still only sporting a mere 300 000.

My sister has graciously offered to come and get me tomorrow afternoon after a brief conversation on MSN last night. Sister to the rescue. At least she has high speed, *and* all the Sex in the City seasons. The first season isn’t very good. But I feel like I need to watch all the episodes, not just season 6…which I hear is the best.

Having not seen any of my family in town yet, and really only spending one night hanging out with Shaneka I feel a bit like a jerk, but only a bit. My laptop is on the fritz, and I’m not rightly sure what’s wrong with it. It starts up, and logs me in…but then doesn’t load anything on my desktop. …Yeeeah. No clue. So Brother Andy says I have to format it when I get home which is…*really* shitty because I had finally got a music collection that I could function normally with. I plan on buying a new computer as soon as I get to BC. No more of this crappy laptop business, its time for this computer nerd to actually get a computer.

In happier news, I got treehugger to load! I hit entre, went and watched an episode of Sex in the City, came back and there it was! Fully loaded! Only to find that there wasn’t really anything overly interesting… its treehugger’s birthday, and it’s hot outside… was basically all the news.

So I guess until I can go on and find some more interesting things I direct you to a really interesting article at Pandagon about gays/straights adopoting/having kids.

Then there are the various parents deliberately placing their children in harm’s way by leaving them in hot cars, riding them in trunks of cars, or serving them up to be raped.

Yet time, energy and money are spent all over the country trying to
make sure law-abiding LGBT citizens don’t have the right to adopt or
foster children simply because of their orientation. If it’s all about
the children, somehow I think the priorities are not in order if the
folks above had zero legal barriers to parenthood by default.

I think we should all have gay parents! Or at least a gay uncle.

And this little tid bit on carbon trading - the article that is linked is pretty long, but it’s also really informative and interesting…if you like…things like carbon trading issues. Which…I do.
